An important feature of Oltrepò architecture consists of buildings erected for reclamation work and, here, they played an important role in redesigning the landscape.
One of the principal examples in the province of Mantua, dating from 1900-1906, this station drained the part of the Oltrepò on the right bank of the River Po and to the left of the River Secchia. Its fascinating and graceful interior houses a museum on the reclamation work, now nearing completion.
