Senga

Senga

A cereal and vegetable farm with farmyard animals, half-way between Mantua and Sabbioneta, in an area well known for its artistic and cultural heritage. The farm has been completely renovated, and guests can enjoy good home cooking either in the old barn or under the porticoes in summer.

The dishes are cooked with meat and vegetables produced on the farm. They serve home-made bread and focaccia, salame and giardiniera all made with farm produce. Hand-made agnoli in brodo, with pumpkin filled tortelli, noodles, bigoli al torchio, ricotta-filled agnolotti and several kinds of risotto. Main courses include a variety of roasts, filled filet, stracotto, faraona disossata, brasato with mushrooms, and grana with all the different types of mostarda made on the farm. Delicious desserts include semifreddo al caffè, dolce belga, millefoglie and sbrisolona. Mostarda and jams for sale.

Fun activities for children and a ping-pong table. From Mantua, take the main road towards Sabbioneta and, about 2km after Pilastro, turn left towards Cesole. Open by request.
