The church stands in the middle of town. Of mediaeval origin, it was built in 1460 but the Gothic-revival facade dates from the last century. A large square separates it from the main Abetone-Brennero road.
The interior is divided into a nave with two aisles and was subjected to extensive renovation in the 1960s, which detracted from its harmony. On the walls of the two aisles are 14 paintings of the Stations of the Cross, a valuable work by several artists of the 18C Venetian school.
Inside is an admirable recent painting by Lanfranco, a painter from Quingentole, depicting St Michael the Archangel; also by Lanfranco is another fine painting of Christ Pantocrator.
