Instituted in 2002 by merging the Eridano system and the Polirone consortium, the Legenda library system provides services for the libraries of the 21 member towns in the south-east of Mantua, serving a catchment area of some 100,000 inhabitants.

It promotes and implements the information and reading services of member libraries, enhances and disseminates the heritage of books and documents, and promotes activities centred on reading, books and information.
