The building, initially dubbed ‘Casa del Balilla e Palestra’, dates back to 1929. Its name is consistent with the framework of sheer and absolute faith as fascist education commanded: the most massive State education experiment ever known to mankind. The project was drafted by the design department of Quistello under the guidance of Giuseppe Gorni. Gorni himself was attributed the decorative work and the main façade design. The front façade is particularly remarkable with its frescoes devoted to gymnastics and sports. Today, the building is a community centre and gym, though it still retains the exuberant fence design, again, by Giuseppe Gorni.
