This church stands on the site of an oratory of the second half of the 15C, formerly dedicated to St George the Martyr. It was built to a design by the architect Pietro Antonio Maggi from Viadana, who gave it an elegant late-baroque style.
The church has a nave and barrel vault, with five chapels per side. The central ones are as wide as the nave and, with it, form an almost square space, creating a centric form. The facade is divided into two tiers by projecting moulding. At the bottom, a series of pilasters, resting on a tall basement, frame the aedicule door surround; the narrower upper one is linked to the stringcourse by two scrolls. At the sides, the cornice terminates with two pyramid pinnacles. A ribbed cimasa completes the facade and is linked to the moulding below by another two scrolls.
The interior is a triumph of decoration in heightened stuccowork adorned with gold, shells, tufts, blazes and gilded strips.
