Built in 1770 to boost local veneration of the Madonna of Loreto, this stands in an area rich in vestiges of the past.
Recent excavations have uncovered a highly significant archaeological complex: the oratory stands over the remains of an 11C Matildic church which, in turn, was built over the remains of a 7C church with two apses. The remains of an ancient Roman villa also add to the underlying history of this site just outside Quingentole.
